Skull Fracture
We spent a day working with the imaging team at the University’s Archeology Faculty using the Light Revolution LR4 system to photograph human bones including skulls, the archeologists were interested in looking at the enhanced detail that this technique could reveal in the structure of bones
The skull was photographed with three different lighting configurations mounted to the LR4 system arms: a Kino Flo Diva 21 LED Panel and two Dedo DLED 4 Heads mounted at different heights above the surface. The first image with the Kino Flo Panel gives a softly lit record shot of the Skull. Images two and three are lit with the Dedo heads creating a harder hard light sources reveal much more detail in the Skull especially the third shot where the Dedo is at a much lower angle
The researchers were particularly impressed with how the technique revealed a barely visible to the eye fracture in the Skull which indicates the system may also have possible Forensic Science possibilities
