Motion Control Rig

The LR system is not only limited to being a lighting platform as it can be used as a 360 degree motion control rig if a camera is mounted to one of the pylons on the end of an arm. Lights can also be attached to the pylons and additional arms can be added to hold lights and reflectors. In this mode a wide range of different lighting styles and effects can be created by shooting with the camera mounted on a jib above the rig or with the camera mounted on to one of the rotating arms. Examples below show some of the effects that can be achieved

Spinning Diamond

The CZ artificial diamond was filmed on the Light Revolution LR4 rig and lit with Dedolights and a green laser

Racing Gear Wheel

The gear wheel from a Formula One car was filmed on the LR4 rig with the camera mounted onto the rig and lit with two Dedolights with blue and yellow gels
