LR2-SYS-BASE - The LR2 Complete Base System

This is a complete LR2 System and comprises of the following components:

LR2 Hub

LR2-SYS-HUB - LR2 Central Hub

This is the heart of the LR2 System and comprises of a precision engineered central hub machined mainly from aluminium rotating on two large steel bearings which enables the hub to rotate smoothly. The aluminium top plate is machined from tool plate providing a very flat surface to mount the aluminium profile struts to. The aluminium components are anodised and the hub comes complete with a kit to mount the unit on a table top of your choice.

We currently have two motor options but you can also add your own motor if you wish to power the hub via a separate drive, if you are interested in this option we can supply you with a quote for an adaptor.

LR4 Motors

LR4 Motors & Controllers

We use the same high quality motors and controllers as in our LR4 system, the motors and controllers we use are very precise, are built to last and you can find the same motors being used in aircraft and nuclear power industries which gives you an indication of their reliability.

We currently have two motor options which are:

LR4-SYS-MOTOR-A01

This is our simplest solution which is ideal for simple lighting effects and filming 360 shots of products. The motor runs continuously in a clockwise directions with variable speed from zero to 15RPM which is equivalent to 6 seconds per revolution at 15 RPM, the speed is controlled by a calibrated potentiometer so that a precise speed can be set and repeated.

LR4-SYS-MOTOR-E01

This motor is highly sophisticated and has encoders built in so that the system is always aware of its position with over potentially 1.5 million positions in every 360 degree rotation. The motor can rotate the rig in any direction, acceleration and deceleration can be precisely controlled as well as complex sequences programmed in for 360 photography including triggering the camera shutter.

Table Support System

LR2-TABLE-BASE -Table Support System

This comprises of three anodised aluminium components to isolate and support the subject table from the rotating hub, the central column bolts to the two identical base plates which have M8 holes drilled in at each corner. The base plates can then be screwed into the selected work top and to the floor to stabilise the table top

Pylon Support Plate

LR2-PYLON-PLATE - Pylon Support Plate

This aluminium support plate has four 8.5mm holes drilled into the corners to attach the plate to the aluminium profile using M8 screws and bolts. The plate also has five standard 3/8” holes drilled and tapped to attach the lighting pylons or other accessories to before being anodised in black. The plate comes complete with four M8 screws, washers and bolts to mount the plate plus one 3/8” screw to mount a pylon to the plate.

Lighting Pylon

LR4-SYS-PYLON-450 - Lighting Pylon

This is our standard lighting pylon which is machined from solid aluminium and has an industry standard 3/8” thread drilled and tapped into each end before a black anodised finish is applied. This universal pylon is shared across both models and pylons can be joined together via a 3/8” screw thread

Hub Mounting Table

LR2-HUB-TABLE - Hub Mounting Table Kit

This mounting table has been designed to support the LR2 Hub and is constructed out of a double layer of 18mm MDF and the sides are constructed from 88mm x 38mm softwood. The legs are anodised aluminium and are attached to the table with coach bolts. Unlike the other components the table is built by hand so is not perfect apart from the legs. It is supplied unpainted so that the user can choose to paint it themselves if required.

We use these aluminium struts to attach to the hub mounting plate and mount the lighting pylons on, the system is extremely versatile with lots of accessories making it possible to build a reasonably complex structure. The standard profile we use is 45mm x 45mm with a 10mm slot which comes in standard lengths of 1,000mm, 2,000mm and 3,000mm. We can cut these to any size you wish and drill holes for the mounting bolts
